NATIONAL FRENCH FRY DAY RETURNS IN 2022 WITH A NEW HOST!

With COVID-19 restrictions lifted, the Town of Florenceville-Bristol is seeing an increase in inquiries around the return of National French Fry Day on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

“This year’s event has been confirmed; however, it will be under the management of Potato World, with the Town offering support through our Festivals and Events Grant.” said Bobbie O’Donnell, Tourism and Business Development Manager.  “In 2019, Council committed to becoming a bona fide tourism destination and with that, our focus has shifted to creating quality, daily tourism offerings throughout the year.  This means, that having key partners with proven experience in what were signature Town celebrations is vital to the continued success of staple events such as National French Fry Day.  Potato World has been a major partner in this event since concept and we are confident they will ensure its successful future.”

Celebrations on Wednesday, July 13th are scheduled to run from 11am until 2pm.  This is a family friendly event offering a variety of activities and entertainment for all ages.  Adults will enjoy the visiting the outside market and musical entertainment provided by Ivan Daigle; while littles ones will enjoy inflatable-bouncers, face painting, and visiting the Science East booth. Of course, there will be no shortage of golden delicious French fries thanks to the generosity of McCain Foods, who are also providing the staff and fryers to cook their tasty treats!

Tammy Kirkland, Potato World Manager said “We are thankful to the Town for the opportunity to take the lead on what has been their event in the past.  Staff and Council have been a great resource offering their experience and advice during the transition period ensuring we have all the connections we need to host a great community event!”

While the event is free to attend, donations toward Potato World’s cost of hosting this event as well as their proposed almost one-million-dollar Revitalization Project are graciously accepted and appreciated.  The museum will also be opened for tours at a discounted rate of $2/person.
